Synonyms saḥ—he (Mahārāja Ambarīṣa); vai—indeed; manaḥ—his mind; kṛṣṇa-pada-aravindayoḥ—(fixed) upon the two lotus feet of Lord Kṛṣṇa; vacāṁsi—his words; vaikuṇṭha-guṇa-anuvarṇane—describing the glories of the Lord of Vaikuṇṭha; karau—his two hands; hareḥ—of Hari (the Supreme Personality of Godhead); mandira-mārjana-ādiṣu—in activities such as cleansing the temple and so on; śrutim—his ear; cakāra—engaged; acyuta—of or about Kṛṣṇa, who never falls down; sat-kathā-udaye—in hearing the transcendental narrations.

Translation Mahārāja Ambarīṣa always engaged his mind in meditating upon the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa, his words in describing the glories of the Lord, his hands in cleansing the Lord's temple, and his ears in hearing the words spoken by Kṛṣṇa or about Kṛṣṇa.

Translation Remembering the two lotus feet of Lord Mukunda, Mahārāja Ambarīṣa embraced them within his heart. Although the rulers of various planets (such as Indra) were very much against him, he remained fully controlled and did not retaliate. With great devotion he offered obeisances to Lord Kṛṣṇa and His lotus feet, always desiring to achieve the ultimate goal of life, namely pure devotional service to the Lord.

Synonyms evam—thus; ekānta-bhaktānām—of those who have unflinching devotion; gurūṇām—of the spiritual masters; guravaḥ—the spiritual masters; sadā—always; bhakta-anugraha-kāmā—desiring to show mercy to the devotees; eva—certainly; bhaktiḥ—devotion; utpadyate—arises; kvacit—sometimes.

Translation The spiritual masters of those who have unflinching devotion always desire to show mercy to their devotees. Thus, in some cases, pure devotional service arises in the hearts of the disciples by the mercy of such spiritual masters.

Translation The pure devotees are My heart, and I am their heart. They do not know anything else besides Me, and I do not know anything else besides them—even slightly.
